Lucas Chan, Ph.D.
Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology
Lucas Chun-Yuan Chan, Ph.D., leads the research and development team for chemically induced-based cell products and therapies. He has more than 16 years of experience in biomedical research, with various expertise, including assay development, high-throughput drug screening, cell engineering, gene editing, and stem cell research. Dr. Chan also contributes across all aspects of the company beyond scientific acumen, including research and development strategy, budget and timeline consideration, board materials, and presentations.
Previously, he was a research scientist at Van Andel Institute, leading the efforts of optimizing, isolating, and scaling the iPSC-derived pacemaker cells for drug development and cell therapy by utilizing gene editing, molecular beacon, AAV, ScRNA, and FACS technology. Dr. Chan received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of New Mexico.
